This garden is fashioned after gardens designed by Guertrude Jeckle. She was foremost an artist whose failing eyesight forced her to choose plants as her medium, rather than the pictures she had painted with a palette of paints.
This garden is fashioned after one of her gardens in Hursley Park in Hampshire. This planting is a planned color sequence, beginning with cool colors of lavender, lambs ear, white and pink phlox , and building toward a climax next with yellow, orange, red, and ending in a variety of blue and purple.
Remember, Days of Yore gardens are always a work in progress with some areas “under construction”, so come and see what’s new and exciting.
