We
intend our classrooms and programs to be comfortable, orderly,
and fun. Child care centers that are too noisy, too hectic, and
too stressful are simply not emphasizing high quality. At
Little Bears we want to emphasize a great atmosphere.

All
of our classrooms have WALLS… Centers that build large
“community rooms” and then partition off classroom spaces are
very noisy. Parents and visitors often comment on how quiet our
classrooms seem.
|
 |
|
All
classroom lesson plans are written by our teachers for the
actual children in their programs. We believe this system
allows us to highlight your children’s strengths, interests and
needs. Centers that use “prewritten” plans do not have this
flexibility.

Our
summer camp has a strong emphasis on field trips to museums,
local parks, and a wide variety of activities that reinforce
educational themes. We specifically want this age group to do
different activities than they would typically have a day care
center. Our Medina groups go on 30-40 trips, our Brunswick
group goes on 45-55! Boredom is not an issue in this program.

|
Enrolling a child care center up to it’s licensed capacity is
simply not quality! A licensed capacity simply means minimal
standards.
At
both Little Bears locations we cap our enrollment at 80% to
insure a high level of quality. Our students have more space,
less commotion, and more teacher attention.

|
Children thrive on consistency! We want our great staff to
stay! Many centers have structured policies to encourage good
teachers to leave; we have done the opposite. Both Little Bears
locations have high levels of staff that have been with us for 5
- 10 years.

Little Bears is not a chain operation. We do not believe that
we can simply add more centers and keep a high level of
quality. We would rather be small and “The Best,” rather than
larger and “Average”.

|
We
care about the families and children enrolled at Little Bears.
If there are areas we can improve in—we want to know. No center
will be perfect, but we have high standards and goals and we
will listen to our parents’ concerns.
